John was a wooden shoe maker.

Exact age of Mary Ann was disputed but all

  agreed she was over 100 years old when she

  died.

John played the fiddle for dances before

  turning Methodist.

Joseph was born March 20, 1858, in or near

  Luxemburg, Wis. the son of John and Mary

  Ann Langbauer Mathe.

Joseph was apprenticed to a wagon maker,

  but broke his apprenticeship to get

  married at about age 20.

Mary Ernestine was born Oct. 24, 1858,

  the daughter of Herman Liebach.

She came from the Green Bay area.

Joseph and Mary Ernestine came to the

  Almond area about 1879.

They were the parents of Edward, Louise

  and Emma.
