Information on George Grant, Harriet's grandfather. Her writings have him being killed in a train accident. The Aberdeen Press and Journal on October 27, 1934 has an article stating it was a motorcycle accident.

Harriet's obituary:

Harriet Jeanette Shikoski, age 88, of Ripon, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon with her family by her side.

She was born August 19, 1923, in Almond, Portage Co., the daughter of Richard and Louise (Mathe) Grant. Harriet graduated from Almond High School as valedictorian in the class of 1941. She also attended Stevens Point Teacher's College. In 1944, Harriet married Charles Shikoski in Almond, WI. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church serving as their financial secretary and a member of the Altar Society. Harriet was also a member of the Green Lake Historical Society and the Homemakers Club. She received her Real Estate Broker's License and enjoyed her writings of the history of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, the saints and her family.

Survivors include her children, Virginia Shikoski of South Bend, IN, Robert Shikoski of Princeton, WI, Richard (Carol) Shikoski of Oshkosh, WI, Frances (Robert) Born of Oshkosh, WI, Anna (Lloyd) McAllister of Green Bay, WI, William (Diane) Shikoski of Menomonee Falls, WI, David (Patricia) Shikoski of Fond du Lac, WI, Alice (Joseph) Kowalski of Waupun, WI, Carol Lawrence of Appleton, WI and Barbara (Steven) Dugenske of Princeton, WI; 36 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one cousin, Yvonne Furman. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; grandparents, including her special grandpa, Joseph Mathe who raised her; brother, Robert; sister, Margaret and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Rosary will be recited for Harriet Shikoski on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at 3:45 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 with visitation following from 4 - 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, from 10 - 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.

Mass of Christian Burial for Harriet will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake. Father Philip Krogman will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Donations for a memorial may be given to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
